Posted Sept 29, 2016 - New Horizons Music Day at Crief - Saturday, November 26

After 5 successful New Horizons Band Spring Retreat Days, we have decided to introduce a Fall Retreat Day.
Laurence Gauci ( Conductor: Stratford Concert Band and Festival City Big Band) will be leading the Concert Band through music starting the day at about a grade 2 level and working us up to some grade 4 charts (or beyond!). Bring your most powerful sight-reading glasses!

Our Jazz Band is led by the Rhythm section of the Royal City Big Band. John Nevin on Keys, Greg Stroh driving us on Bass and the strong arms of Sam Daniels on kit.

The Scenic Crieff Retreat Centre is ideally located just south of the 401 between Guelph and Kitchener.

Please email Bill Laight  ( ) if you have questions or would like to reserve a place. We were booked to capacity last spring. Don't be disappointed - get your name on the list now. Let us know your instrument with your email.

Thank you everyone for your enthusiasm starting off this 10th year of NHBGuelph!  Other than books that have been ordered I believe most of the music needs have been taken care of, please let me know if you are still missing something.  By the end of this weekend a list with links to recordings will likely be posted on the website Small groups will be starting next week with;

Clarinets and Jazz Improvisation on Monday

Jazz Ensemble on Wednesday

Brass and Flute choir on Friday.

Check the website for the schedule Time and location for each group is listed on the calendar.

The jazz ensemble is full but there is room in all other groups so it is not too late to join.  Please let me know if you are interested and I will add you to the list, more information will be going out to those that have signed up for each program.

Thanks again for your commitment to our program, it is a pleasure to work with all of you!

P.S. Don't for get your music stand and coffee mug on Tuesday for Three Willows.
